Trying hard to do these pieces early in the day for at least the next 2 weeks.   Just makes it easier to tackle the day's to-do lists if I get it done early, that way I don't have it looming over my shoulder and almost run out of time to do one!   Blah, blah ramble blah!  : )

After a morning of shopping and a day and evening with Tammy and the folks laughing and chatting I did a really simple pen and ink. Highlight besides seeing family was feeling one of nieces kick.

Happy Thanksgiving! Did the Walk to End Hunger this morning at the Mall of America and then had a quiet day of reading and painting set backdrops.

Decided to get my piece done early again today.  Wednesday's are usually a day where I have extra time during the day to get stuff done.  So that's my goal!

Day 323.  I love cool number combinations like waking up at 5:55 for work or 12:34. This morning I'm doing my piece before school, so I can focus on catching up today.  OOOPS That was 2 days ago!  My numbers are off!

Mondays!  Pushed the day to the limit and almost ran out of time to do today's piece!  Until all these set pieces are done for the Christmas program and I am caught up at work, I fear my purple pieces are going to be a bit simple.  Sorry!

Saturday's are awesome.  Feel like I drifted through the day, reflecting on some changes and realizing how those changes are for the best.

Day 323: Purple

Such a gorgeous day out side!  After church, lunch and a few errands, spent time outside raking, planting bulbs and putting a few more of my gardens to bed.  Felt nice to be out in the warm fall air.
After spending several hours painting sets, I did a really simple pen and ink.  Beginning to be grateful that this is a month and a half away from completion!

Beginning of the day started off strong and uplifting.  Our student exchange with our sister school was busy but went so smoothly! Doing art with 205 4-6 th graders was quite fun, but after I finished and got to class, found out David o. Brown died.  He was creative, fun, and positive with a great smile.  RIP David
Today's paper is dedicated to him.

Busy day (imagine that) with a bit of worrisome news about a friend.  Thus the pen and ink I did today.
On a lighter note, operation change is progressing rather nicely.

UGH!!! one of those days that no matter how much I got done,  I felt further and further behind!! Trying to get ready for Friday, take care of additional work related paper work, grade the posters for the contest and get going on the props and sets for the Christmas program on top of normal art classroom teaching and such.  Haven't even started critiquing and photographing other student art projects for Artsonia.  Breath, breath, breath.
Did a really simple pen and ink, because it was almost bed time when I realized I hadn't done one!

I am so tired!  Couldn't get to sleep last night, but on the upside, my brain figured out what to do with the 4 - 6 graders that are visiting our school on Friday!  Had a partial plan before , but now it is all figured out!  Glad I got up and recorded each new idea, since I usually don't and end up with morning of "d'oh! I don't remember!"
Volunteering later to collect shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child and then possibly to the gym.

Best part of this piece was sitting with 2 5th graders and discussing life and books.

The day that begins a long series of business ('til mid January) has begun, a bit slowly as I still don't feel at 100%.  I did go to the gym for a bit as a I thought something I volunteered for was today.  It's actually for tomorrow!  It's all good.  All part of the new direction.
Took some random purple triangles today and made this piece.  yay! lol

Purple is still eluding me as is my muse.  Feel like I'm still in a cocoon of avoidance and self preservation.  Tomorrow, I plan to start breaking out.

Day 312: Purple

Full day of teaching, but it was a great day of teaching.  Almost everyone including me, seemed engaged and creative.  That feeling of "normalcy" may be coming back.  Unfortunately that motivated feeling didn't make it past the front door tonight.   Today's piece ended up being adding a bit of purple to a started project with a bit of left over blue paper. Can feel change coming, so yeah!

Can hardly handle the anticipation for tonight's election to be over!!! The ads, the millions spent, all for this.  I did vote.

Hoping this will be a more "normal" week at school.  The students were a bit hyped, but as is expected with last week's stuff and tomorrow night's elections.

Day 307 : Purple

Today we held a school memorial service for Peter. So powerful, sad, and beautiful.  Nothing rips at the heart more than seeing grieving children.
I thought I was going to have to send my camera in for repairs but thanks to a great repair guy who looked at 3 minutes before close, it is now working!
So tired tonight, just did a pen and ink.

Wow into the home stretch with the last of this year's colors: PURPLE!  This should prove to be interesting.  Was asking the kindergarteners for suggestions, but yeah, they were not much help.
So I kept it simple tonight and did a pen and ink flower.
