I took on the challenge of being creative at least once a day for the year 2012 using color. Looking back at all the pieces from 2012, I realized the ones that stood out and gave me the most joy, were the creatures (sad frog, the monsters,...) 2013 was the year of creatures. This year (2014) I'm continuing with the creatures but making them around the theme of children's stories/nursery rhymes. When all the characters are finished, I'll assemble them into a story picture.

Day 182:Yellow
Spent an enjoyable day and evening with my parents and sister/bro-inlaw. Tonight I did a tongue in cheek papercut called "Pink Lemonade? Final day of yellow! Where it did bring out a bit of humor it was a challenge with the limited shades of yellow available in mediums I use. Tomorrow = green! Oooooooooo :)
Peace and fabulousness.

Day 181: Yellow
Taking 100 kids to a local zoo,a tiny car filled with 6 coolers and a large chip box and no a/c = a very tired night. I found a bit of paper left over from something else and decided to add various dots of yellow sort of like a night's sky. Ta da! :) happy weekend to you all!
Peace and fabulousness!

Day 180 : Yellow
Great time with some dear friends and a new one last night. Nothing like a night of awesome food, beverages and fun conversation.
Tonight is the first night of the CSArt distributions! Can't wait to meet the people who have taken on investing in this great art program and who is going to be gettin my art work. Connie Beckers of The Goddess of Glass is truely amazing for setting this all up and getting it off the ground.
So after work, I decided I better get my yellow piece in so I did a pen and ink and added a twist of humor. Hope ya like this one Rich!

Day 179: Yellow
Hot day! But a good day! Got a free art lamp. Bought some of my favorite pens and found them in some new colors, also got a new brand of marker paper to try! Having no a/c in the car, I left way early for dinner plans to avoid rush hour. Made it to St Paul only partially melted. So I created a melting sun in pen and ink at Caribou. Was nice to just sit back create and take in a slice of the world at a coffee place.
Peace and fabulousness!
Added a bonus picture... I did it to try out the new paper which I give a B-.

Day 175: yellow
Busy fun weekend! Went out last and saw people I haven't in 3 1/2months.. too long.
Hoping to run into more tonight.
Today's piece is inspired by the bee I found napping in my raspberry bushes while picking raspberries. I disturbed it once to make sure it was okay (though I'm not sure what I would have done if it wasn't), the second by accident. That's when it got miffed and flew off to sleep in the of the garage window's sill. Sorry bee.
Peace and fabulousness.

Day 174: Yellow
Knowing today was going to be a jammed packed day School duties, getting them on a filedtrip, getting set up to be out on Monday and then heading out for some weekend festivities, I decided I better get up a bit early and take some pictures of some new yellow blooms in my gardens... I'm always amazes me the intricate details of plants and flowers. The Spaghetti squash flower was a complete surprise. It had opened so perfectly. Up until this point I hadn't seen any of them opened. That's why I garden for the sheer beauty of nature and the hummingbirds, bees and birds like it too. Here's too a great weekend!
Peace and Fabulousness!

Day 173: Yellow
What a beautiful summer morning, A perfect day to roll up ones sleeves and hit the gardens or go for a walk or .... go to work. Actually had a few extra moments this morning while waiting for the students to come down for breakfast. I woke up this morning thinking about the floods in Duluth and the images I saw on the news of the streets looking like a large stone river bed.
So I did a pen and ink inspired by that event. I always marvel at the power of water. It can be calming and peaceful or in large and small emounts powerully destructive.
Here's to a rapid dry out and renewal Duluth.
I also added a bonus piece I forgot I had done.

Day 171: Yellow
Seemed to have spent a lot of one on one time with the students today...you always hope they hear your words. And the care behind them like the little guy who said he was going to be a good boy after getting in trouble. I told him he was already a good kid, he just needed to make a good choice.
So since I got done with work a bit early I made my piece in the afternoon. Nice! It's entitled a lemon with a twist. Finished just before my back cracking appointment. Sweet!
Peace and fabulousness!

Day 170 : Yellow
Monday. One thing about running a summer program is everyday seems to hold a surprise or challenge. Today had both with a nugget of a good thing too.
Wasn't sure what today's yellow piece would be. Last night I packed up the the yellow project with the orange and red and I remembered sad frog. So I did a yellow frog who turned out more annoyed looking than sad.
Whattup with that?
peace and fabulousness.

Day 169 : Yellow
Today we are taking inspiration from Jill Gammon Carillo Flora365 blog. So I once again went to my garden for inspiration. Did some photography. Realizing more and more this is a medium I want to persue more of.... Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there, especially to mine: who has taught me patience, humor, gentleness, integrity and a strong work ethic. I love ya Dad!
Peace and fabulousness!

Day 168: Yellow
Just realized my days of yellow are coming to an end in 2weeks!!! I can't wait to do green. Not one of my favorite colors, but the possibilities should be more abundant. I hope. Went to the beautiful wedding of Natalie for ocer an hourand Matt. Such a nice wedding and gorgeous chapel. Thanks to my craptastic phone and being lost in my unairconditioned car didn't get to the reception. :( probably for the best. In light of my own singleness and a multiple other things going on in work /community just saying. Peace and fabulousness.
Looks like I will have to retake this one too!

Day 167 : Yellow
Hello Friday!!! You can't see it but I'm doing the happy dance. Was trying to post yesterday's piece but our internet is down at work. Today's project is a pissed papercut wasp. Really not sure why it's mad just is. Wanted to add something to show its' source of anger but was drawing a blank. Maybe a loss of sleep. Off center rage filled neighbor may have been off again, woke up to 3 cop cars and a towtruck in the front of the house after hearing and seeing a car roll slowly, parking ect over and over repeatedly earlier in the evening. So glad I can sleep in tomorrow.
peace and fabulousness!
Pictures on Sunday!
Will have to retake this picture
Having trouble capturing this one in a photo.

Day 164: Yellow
I decided I had the need to paint ... really didn't have any idea in mind but wanted to just paint. It was an acrylic abstract with an inner message that expressed itself as I painted.
Day 2 of SLAM better at one end and a bit more twisted at the other.
Peace and Fabulousness
I am seriously realizing the lighting in my house is not good for art.... This piece looked a lot better at home. Tee hee hee

DAY 163: YELLOW
Today I did a papercut type seedling breaking forth. Must be because I haven't done anything in the gardens for a few days or it's a metaphor for my life at this point.
As the first day of Summer SLAM hit one wall after another came home exhausted. At some point not enough cooks in the kitchen at others too many figurtivelly speaking. Actually took a 3 minute nap.
Peace and fabulousness.

Day 162: Yellow
Today's piece was inspired by 365ers Rebecca's love blog. So I did a fractured yellow one on a green background.
Finished my 10 pieces for the NOMI CSArt ...all I need is to box them up.
Tomorrow day one of Summer SLAM ...hoping it's a good one.
Peace and fabulousness!
Will have to do a photo on Tuesday. The one I took yesterday, turned out very blurry!

Day 161: Yellow
Odd sort of day. Did get to see my neighbor's garden adventure. Whereas I have no shade they have too much! So since it was so hot I stayed in and worked on my 10 artshare pieces. They should be finished and boxed by tomorrow. If you want to get in on some great art pieces there are a few shares left. Just contact Connie at The Goddess of Glass (best art shop in Mpls! ) Did a simple VERY simple pen and ink today!
Peace and fabulousness!

Day 159: Yellow
While working on multiple projects inside and out, I decided to use some leftover paper scraps to make today's piece. Quirky yet fun. Will have to redo the picture. The lighting in my house is somewhat dim, so I find I don't take the best pictures there of my projects. At least you can get the idea.... : D
Peace and fabulousness.

Day 153: Yellow
Today is the students' last day of school. So we have an all school picnic today at a local park. Knowing that and that I would most likely be celebrating the students' last day of school tonight, decided I better get a simple yellow piece done and out early. So here it is!
