It's amazing how in the event of destruction it can turn into such a huge blessing. So many things I wanted to fix up on the exterior of my house, but being the only occupant with not a high paying job, such projects can seem overwhelming. But after the hail storm of May many of these projects became a possibility. Today was the first. A new garage roof and house roof ...looks so nice. Very grateful for this blessing. Another of those days, did en plein air painting in my back yard on 3 canvases. Music on random brought up an old Queen song I'd never truely listened to its' lyrics, until today. Spent much time replaying it (Glee version :) )

Besides the gym and some general gardening, I got the chance to spend the rest of the day with my sister and my nieces! So much fun and so much energy! They are so cute and I loved reading to them. Adorbs!

Spend time in the gardens. Also walked the stone arch bridge festival. It was really good this year. Trying to read in the gardens tonight but two dogs were freaking out, 1 squirrel was spazzing out, one rabbit was getting over confident, and one neighbor was cranking his tunes. Add to that the beginning of the fireworks/ firecracker stage of summer. Decided to push through my creative block. Did work with some oil paint tonight. First time in years. Felt good. Need a bigger space and better light. Peace and fabulousness

My student's wouldn't believe this, but I went to 2 movies today! It's probably been over 2 years since I've been to one let alone two! Loved 'em both.

Whew! Great group of teens with the city cleaned up the house next door's lawn and removed some trees on my fence line, i did some upgrades on my garage door, secured the fences on the gates next door, had calls from 2 different contractors on hail repair already, heard some good music at Live on the Drive... Overall beautiful day.

Woke up and got up by 4:30 this morning. It was kind of surreal to walk out my door at 5:30 and have it be fully lit. so I went to the gym, put my garbage out, talked and caught up with my neighbor, saw the reason I need to do more landscaping and put yard waste out to be picked up every Wednesday :-), found out what will be covered under my insurance after the hail damaged, excetra excetra excetra. I am now tired. Lol kind of hoping I wake up early again tomorrow. Just not 4:30. Peace and God be with us (auto correct change fabulousness into that: love it!)

Last night before I went to bed I covered up all my clocks. Today's goal was to see and avoid all distractions. Internet, talk radio, TV, and time. It was amazing to see how often I look at clocks each time I pass them. Also to see how automatic almost like a reflex it is that I reach for my phone each time I pass it. I just wanted a day to avoid all those distractions and just let my instincts take me where it needed to go. It took me from cleaning, organizing, to framing, and finally to finishing the Hansel and Gretel peice. I also learned some things about myself and found some things along the way. Not going to discuss that here since not all eyes are supportive/understanding.
The experiment finally ended at 6 p.m. when my phone started to ping. My friend Patty is due anytime now (here baby is) and I thought that's what the pinging was all about. It wasn't.
I also want to give a big shout out and say happy birthday to my sister Tammy. She's an amazing and beautiful person.
Definately want to do this again.

Having a third weird experience with the lighta in my house. 1. The light that turned itself off and on. 2. The low watt light that melted a dusk/dawn timer. 3. A light that grew brighter each time I approached it. ????
Last night in the midst of insomnia, dreamt an epic earthquake dream with an opera diva and aftershocks. Never been in one but last night's dream was just like all the experiences I've read about, sound,sights and movement. Cool.

First day of holiday is always odd. A sea of things you want accomplish ahead of you, but still feeling the weight of the shore behind. Gave myself grace to just live the day with A/V repair, laundry, lunch at Emily's and Tv. Tomorrow, let the winds of change adjust the sails.

Always feels weird starting a break on a Tuesday. It just feels like tomorrow should be Saturday. I got the classroom all packed up. We said goodbye to Steve Harrison and Fr Michael today as they retire. Sad to see these two individuals retire, since they are so good at what they do. Tired.

Last day of school with the students! Fieldtrip to see a great play, came back to school in the midst of a lockdown and ended with a fabulously fun teacher party! Thanks Rich for hosting!

200 Artsonia pieces posted, State Fair entries entered, served cookies to the school at all school picnic and I'm tired.
Can't wait to tell the students who have pieces entered into the State Fair tomorrow! So much talk and anticipation. Thought we wouldn't have a lot this year, nope. More than 80 pieces will be entered!! So happy and proud!
Realized today need to accomplish a lot in so many areas this summer... In a good way.

Last day of art classes and Art Club. Great day with the students! <3
All I have left is 2 school fieldtrips, putting 200+ student's last art pieces on Artsonia, registering the last of the State Fair entries, figuring out my order for next year's supplies and packing up the artroom. Thank God I'm organized!
Had to say good bye to a few students today as they move on to other destinations. Really, really tough. One has a tough path ahead. I spent the year creating safe spaces for. He amazed me at his generous and wise considerations today especially for his parent. Watch out world.
Sorry again, the pieces are a bit simple this week. Apologize to my house as well for the neglect these past 2 week. Next week us yours!

A nice Tuesday, usually full moon days are, oddly.
Today's piece was inspired by Ms. Bunny in my yard. I love rabbits...but today, girl pushed the love aside. Came home to find a tomato plant down. 5 other newly planted plants decimated AND then buried with mulch, covering the evidence. It looked like nothing was ever planted in those spots. Girl, It's on!

A mixed emotion day for a Monday. Happy news of a colleague's engagement, while sad news of a colleague's sister's death, & a former teachers bad Health, they're not giving her much time.
