Day121 : Orange

The final day of orange! Ended up putting in a 10 hour day at work prepping for tomorrows 1st - 3rd grade student exchange. Did a paper piece..was kind of beat and almost put it off. Luckily I'm a bit stubborn. It wasn't the ta-da end to orange I wanted but it'll have to do. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 120:orange

Long interesting day. Tried to cover all areas of my life ...I just did a simple pen and ink. Not one like the challenge of the 365-ers but the stress of the upcoming week made it something I didn't want to tackle until later in the week when I can enjoy it. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 119: Orange

Today's sad frog paper art piece was an idea I had 2 days ago. I wish I would have done it the when the mental image was fresher. Oh well. Pictures on Monday. Peace and fabulousness.

Day 118: Orange

Had a great student art (and Choir/Social Studies) event last night. I had around 540 different student art pieces displayed. It never ceases to amaze me the creative things my students can come up! It was a fun, colorful and vibrant display of work. Today is a day of catching up, taking 95% of the art pieces, and teaching. My firtst gfraders and I had fun creating art while listening to old school music like ABBA, Erasure, the Bee Gees, Paula Abdul...It was our own art disco party! So I kept it simple. With only 3 more days of orange left, I know what I want to do for tomorrow and Mondays. So today, I just used left over bits of paper to create something. I'm tired too. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 117: Orange

Today is back to back craziness!!! Teaching, Dining Out for Life, setting up 100's of projects for the all school social studies/ art night, and then attending the school art night. Go go go...but it's stressful in good way. So I used leftover pieces of orange paper and quickly put together a paper piece of a lizard on a skyscraper's scaffolding in between classes. Peace and fabulousness.

Day 116: Orange

Happy Wednesday! Considering I bolted up wide awake at 1:30AM realizing how much I have to get done in the next two weeks, I'm feeling relatively calm today or it could be I'm just way tired or in a state of dillusion or am I still alseep! :D One thing I'm finding is no matter how crazy busy the day is or seems, doing this daily project ends up being a centering time. I thought for sure when I started this that weeks like these would be even more stressful with an added project. The exact opposite has happened. Being creative every day for a little bit or longer period of time is calming. It might be that it gives the left side of the brain time to process everything while the right side isn't being ignored nor neglected. A yin and yang time (or is it ying and yang? zing and zang? these are question asked by my inner blond/ my true self). I did a simple flower out paper today. One of my classes is a bit behind on a project, so I worked on the flower inbetween rounds around the room while they finished up theirs. Mum is doing well. Talked to her yesterday and she got home and is slowly feeling better! Yippee! She says " Thank you to all for their thoughts and prayers!" I echo that thought! Peace and Fabulousness!

Day 115: Orange

Started out this morning with plans to do a paper cut style flower, but ended up envisioning this piece, so I went with it. Tuesday's in my art room is the busiest. I get class after class after class. It's starts out with my calmest, smallest groups and grows and escalates from there. Figured out why some groups are so antsy, testing is this week. Really sad that so much is put on standardized testing. I would love to pull out that soap box, but I've headache since yesterday, so be grateful you were spared : D I haven't heard from mom, so I'll call her yesterday. I can't believe I have only a week left of orange! Next yellow (I like the color but having trouble imagining what I can possibly create with it!) Peace and Fabulousness!

Day 114: Orange

What a day!!!! The kids were really off today! Energy (a lot of it negative), antsy, off track... I hope this isn't foreshadowing of the last weeks of school. If so, pack 'em up and send 'em home now! : D Kidding, kind of. I woke thinking of this image this morning for orange. It was so strong it stayed with me most of the morning. However, when i had a few minutes to work on it, I totally forgot! Gladly it came back to me. Another picture of how I feel... Peace and fabulousness!

BTW Just heard from sis, mom's surgery went really well. : D She may even get to go home today! I'll hear from her later.

Day 113: Orange

Today's inspiration for me and the 365-ers was Ellen's hearts blog. She does more than a heart a day, she puts herself into that piece. So I did a pen and ink piece. When I finished it didn't fully true to the style of Ellen's so added the inner heart which made it a more authentic to life in the moment. Pictures tomorrow.

Day 112:Orange

I almost forgot!!! Was running errands all morning then off to my friend Rich and his lovely bride's wedding. I was sitting there during the ceremony and dawned on me I didn't do an orange project!! Luckily there is a break between the ceremony and the reception. So I ran home and did a pen and ink of something I envisioned during the ceremony. Note - the image in no way reflects the happy couple, it was just where I was personally in that space of time. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 111: Orange

Day 111! Love it! I can be a bit of a number geek at times (except when it comes to actual math!) It's is sunny and Friday!! Tripple yay! Today's piece is a 3"x3" acrylic paint piece that I've been working on throughout the orange days. Today I finished it with some finishing touches this morning, so I'm using it as today's piece. I know it's not solely orange but orange is one of the predominant colors. This piece also looks best from a distance like most pieces in this vein do. Thoughts and prayers going out to Mom and sis as they get ready for 2 very different medical procedures! Have a great weekend! (ooooo just had my 3000 view - quadruple yay!!!!) Day 110 : Orange

Today I did a paper art type piece. It was just kind of how I was feeling. Didn't have a set idea in mind other than where Sad Frog is. So I stuck Sad Frog in there and let the pieces come together as they may. Feel like I'm getting a cluster headache so I'm going to keep this short.

Day 109: Orange

It's one of those days where everything feels a bit off. WAKING UP 15 minutes early, not by choice, got me to work so early (30 minutes early!)I decided to get my orange piece done right away. Yesterday I had originally planned to do a sun rise type picture, but Sad Frog stepped in. I took on the the sunrise this morning. Maybe it was getting to work early, or being overcast, or having spring rolls for breakfast or having that AM adrenaline rush wear off by 8:00, but the whole piece started strong then seem to get more ond more "off" as I glued it together. It doesn't feel right or complete to me, but it is what it is. (Sigh) Too much else to get done today to do a re-do. Happy Wednesday!

Day 108: Orange

Today's project turned out way different than I had origanlly plan it to be. For some reason as I was moving things around on my desk, an orange circle drifted to the floor. It sparked an image of a balloon, a balloon shaped like a frog. :) Of course who owned the balloon? Sad Frog. The piece also started off rectangular, but that just didn't seem right to me. So I trimmed off the left hand side in a curvey lined style.

Still not sure why orange sparks images of frogs, it just does. Makes me wonder what color IS the sky in my world? Tee hee hee. I'll do the one planned today tomorrow, unless a frog hops in the way. Peace and fabulousness.

Day 107: Orange

I came to realize how much I have to get done in the next 3 weeks: A major all school art show to set up, plan and do art activities with 2 schools worth of 1-3rd graders and one other large scale project that I can't discuss on here at this time....Going to have to really stay organized and focused if I'm going to get everything done, my daily piece and 13 other pieces that are due at the end of May... YIKES!!!! Though I'm not to worried since, I actually accomplish more when under the gun. Today's piece is a simple piece done with orange paper. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 106: Orange

If I understood the challenge for today from my fellow 365-ers it was to create a piece from something that inspires you. So today's orange piece is inspired by the works of Keith Haring. His work,use of line, color and sometimes the mere scale /size of the pieces always have attracted and inspired me. so I did an orange pen and ink in the style of Keith Haring. RIP Keith. Today I sent for an artistic tool I've wanted for a long time and hope will help take my art to a whole new level. Pics tomorrow! Peace and fabulousness!

Day 105: Orange

Today's orange piece was VERY simple, small and basic pen and ink. It was one of those rare times where I got to point early on that felt it was actually finished. So rare...It's very simple but I felt like any more would be too much. Peace and fabulousness.

Day 104: Orange

Today I picked the brain of my 4th graders for an idea for today's project. As they were throwing out ideas, not as many as the first graders, but some fun ones none the less. My mind was seriously drawing a blank, may be due to having actually slept through the night and feeling finally a bit better. So, one student came up with the idea of a frog or lizard on a mushroom just a mere one second after the word mushroom popped into my mind. It was sooo cool! She just beamed! So I did a paper piece with the sad little frog on some mushrooms. Happy Friday! Peace and Fabulousness!

Day 103: Orange

Today, after showing the 1st graders my past 3 post I asked them for ideas for todays...got everything from frogs jumping in and out of water, to dragons, to cheesecake to frogs in cake. Maybe I'll rethink and rephrase the question and ask again another day. While they were talking though I was formulating my own idea. Decided to go reptile one more day and create another picture from paper. This time I thought of bubbles... frogs and lizards trapped on bubbles. Maybe that would cheer them up. Day 102: Orange

Still in a bit of a fog... Today I was going to do a smaller frog and when I started to sketch it out, this lizard shape kept emerging. So I gave it it's reality, cut it out paper and stuck its sad self in a tree branch. Not sure what's with this genre of reptiles, but they seem to need a voice and my students sure enjoy them. Off to the doctor to see what's up. Peace and fabulousness.

Day 101: Orange

Back to work today... Ever have a morning you're so deep in sleep that when you hit the snooze button on your alarm, you go right back under into that dream land and when you finally do get up it takes a while to figure out whether you're still in the dream or not? That was this morning. My head is still in a fog... which rhymes with frog. That's what today is once again. Orange Frogs! Why frogs? Not sure at this point, I'm just going to go with it. : ) Peace and Fabulousness!

Day 100: Orange

I can't believe this is day 100!!!! Unbelievable! Today I did a paper project. Made an orange frog amidst orange reeds. The picture just seemed sad, so I added a blue tear. I'll post it tomorrow when I will have access to my work computer again! Peace and fabulousness!

Day 99: Orange

Happy Easter!!  Today originally was full,  jam packed but in the end it ended up to be a quiet day.  The 365-ers and I did our projects today inspired by the photos / poetry of Yasna C. Provine.   So my piece is around orange (duh!  :) words lines and a symbol in the corner made up of the letters in the word orange ...I also threw in an additional pen and ink.

Day 98: Orange

Beautiful rainy day. I did a freestyle type paper cut with scraps of former pieces with a pinch of pen and ink. A former project I started last winter finally took shape as well. Feel like the fog is lifting a bit. Going to reattempt downloading a photo on my phone again ...really dislike not being able to post pictures ... Peace and fabulousness!

Day 97: Orange

Still wiped out, but feel like my creative energies are finally rejuvenating! Along with working on my artshare pieces I did a papercut of a mouse in a basket under a balloon. It felt so right and on track with how I normally create. Peace and fabulousness

Day 96: Orange

With lack of sleep and not feeling well, feel like I spent the day in a fog. After a trip to the Blick for some new orange pens, I did a simple whimsical pen and ink. Can tell I'm off a bit. Each line I drew was off but in the end an interesting piece. May have to invest in a new laptop or such .... Peace and fabulousness!

Day 95: Orange

Another dream riddled night this time about decorating ideas. Exhausting especially since they repeated over and over. So today I did another papercut flower in different shades of orange. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 94: Orange

What a bizarre night. In between allergies kicking in and waking up every 15 - 30 minutes, I dreamt doing 3 different orange pieces repeatedly all night long. One would think I would remembered them,but alas no. Today I did a paper cut type flower with different shades of orange. Peace and fabulousness!

Day 93: Orange

Today was a day full of unexpected good things! Only downfall was I can't get photos to download on my antique laptop. With my work computer locked up until next Tuesday, looks like no pictures till then!! Argggg! But that is small in comparison to the great news that mom was released from the hospital! Happy dance! She also got some good news about some potential bad news. So happy! Today I did a pen and ink that's somewhat abstract. I was inspired by Yvonne and incorporated some black into it. Day 92: Purple (April Fools! Still Orange)

What a beautiful day! Tried to keep it low key. Went for a long walk and just marvelled at the signs of new life in nature. So many leaves forming, robins and song birds calling, tulips, bleeding hearts and lilacs close to blooming, and on and on. I especially enjoy the color of new green leaves that are forming. Today for my orange piece I used pasta! Was walking through my kitchen and the orange pasta in my pasta jar caught my eye. So decided to make a pasta sun/flower type thing. Thank for the thoughts/prayers for mom. She's still in hospital but is hoping they'll release her tomorrow so she can get some rest. Peace and fabulousness!
