I took on the challenge of being creative at least once a day for the year 2012 using color. Looking back at all the pieces from 2012, I realized the ones that stood out and gave me the most joy, were the creatures (sad frog, the monsters,...) 2013 was the year of creatures. This year (2014) I'm continuing with the creatures but making them around the theme of children's stories/nursery rhymes. When all the characters are finished, I'll assemble them into a story picture.

Day 76: Orange
I try to be a good stewart of my resources. I hate to waste. Also since I have such a limited budget in my classroom, it's always a challenge to make what I have go a long ways. For example, we have a scrap paper box the contains leftover pieces of construction paper that if empty would comfortably hold two small kindergarteners. It is filled to over flowing! I also try to encourage my students to do the same, which is huge challenge in today's disposable society.
So today, I took the leftover pieces from past papercuts and assembled them to create this:
I really like the negative and positive spaces. Have a great weekend!
Peace and fabulousness!
